About Alexa

Hi, I'm Alexa. Nurse, mama, and the heart behind Dodo & Co.

I'm a labor and delivery nurse with a master's in nursing and a background in developmental psychology, and a certified pediatric sleep consultant. Most of all, I'm a mom who knows how hard those sleepless months can be.

My story

Better sleep helped me feel like me again.

Like so many new moms, I found myself navigating sleep deprivation, endless Google searches and moments of self-doubt. Postpartum felt dark and isolating, and somewhere along the way I lost a little piece of myself.

When our daughter was about 4 months old, we sleep trained, and it changed so much more than our nights. Learning about infant sleep and finding a consistent routine helped our whole family. I hoped for a happier, well-rested baby. What I gained was a passion for helping other parents feel that same peace, confidence and connection.

“Every baby is unique, every family is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to sleep.”

The name

Faire dodo, and the “Co.”

Faire dodo is French for “to go night-night.” The name brings together two things close to my heart: working with moms and babies, and my love of French culture from my French minor.

It's also a tribute to my wonderful European mama, who has a PhD in child development and is a sleep consultant herself. I grew up close to this work.

And the “Co.”? That's you. The little dreamers and families I work with, because without them, Dodo would be nothing.

What I believe

Three things I tell every family.

Family knows best

Trust your gut if something feels off. A plan should never be so rigid that you lose yourself in it.

Sleep is essential

Babies need sleep to grow and develop, and so do parents. Wanting rest is a necessity of life.

Sleep training is a gift

Built on secure attachment, it teaches your baby that the crib is a safe space and that you'll always come back.

I'd love to meet your family.

Bienvenue chez Dodo & Co. Let's make some room for rest, together.
